I suppose I'll be searching for a new job now... I wonder what they will offer, at least I hope there are useful jobs and not irritating ones. How utterly boring, it seems...

Perhaps that is quite true. You have never experienced the world with the old gods for long, though, the new gods are quite different from the old ones. I do not care for the change, regardless. IT has become a true... limbo, to this point.
